Be aware of fraudulent calls, emails, and letters targeting Georgia licensees.

Scammers are impersonating officials from the Georgia Board of Dentistry, law enforcement, and federal agencies. They may claim you are under investigation or that your license is at risk. These scams are designed to intimidate and trick you into revealing sensitive information for sending money. 

 

What These Scams May Look Like:

Caller ID shows “Georgia Board of Dentistry” or a government agency.

Demands for immediate payment of threats of license suspension.

Requests for DEA numbers, Social Security numbers, or banking info.

Fake case numbers or forged documents appear legitimate.

 

What to Know:

The Georgia Board of Dentistry will never ask for personal  or financial info by phone. 

We do not threaten arrest or immediate license suspension over the phone.

All formal communication from the Board is sent in writing and can be verified.

Protect Yourself:

Don’t provide personal or license information by phone or email.

Hang up and verify any suspicious communication with the Board directly, 

Alert your staff and colleagues to ongoing scams. 

Consider filing a police report for attempted fraud.
